Li Yiran, a member of the Communist Party of China, is an undergraduate student in Class Nengdong ZY1901. She once served as the assistant class advisor of Class Energy 2204, and has won honors and awards such as the National Scholarship, University Model Student Pacesetter, and University Outstanding Communist Youth League Member for two consecutive years. After graduation, she was recommended for admission to the Department of Energy and Power Engineering at Tsinghua University to pursue a doctoral degree directly.

Clarifying Goals and Striving to Be a Pioneer
Nothing in the world is difficult for one who sets his mind to it. Since entering the university, Li Yiran has had a clear goal and strived forward. Over the past three years, she has maintained an excellent learning state, reasonably allocated her study time, and formulated and implemented a detailed study plan. She actively consulted teachers and discussed with classmates, laying a solid professional foundation. Her GPA for compulsory courses has been above 4.2 every semester, and her academic performance has remained first in her major.

As she gradually deepened her study of professional knowledge, she also actively thought about professional issues in her spare time and, together with like-minded classmates, threw herself into scientific and technological innovation activities. She participated in the 7th China International "Internet +" College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and won the provincial third prize, took part in the 17th National College Students Transportation Science and Technology Competition and won the national second prize, and applied for 2 national invention patents. In Li Yiran's view, the sense of achievement gained in participating in scientific and technological activities has diluted the tiredness and hardship in the learning process. She hopes to continue pursuing a doctoral degree, take a solid path in scientific research, and contribute her own strength to the development of the discipline and major.

Voluntary Service and Tempering Character
As a Communist Party member, Li Yiran has always kept in mind the responsibility on her shoulders. During her college years, she actively participated in voluntary service activities. She once served as a community volunteer during the epidemic, assisting medical staff in carrying out nucleic acid testing work, and also worked as a welcome volunteer at the university twice, providing all-round services for new students. The process of helping others has satisfied her spiritually and mentally, and youth should shine in dedication.

To achieve all-round development of her personal abilities, she actively participated in student work. In her sophomore year, she served as the Minister of Publicity of the College Students' Marxist Theory Research Association, mainly responsible for organizing students' theoretical learning in the college, writing activity news, and making publicity posters. In her senior year, she was appointed as the assistant class advisor of Class Energy 2204. The role of assistant class advisor is crucial to the development of new students. Regarding this, she said confidently: "I will cherish this opportunity, fulfill my duties conscientiously, answer questions for new students, help them adapt to college life as soon as possible, and spread positive energy to them."
Marching Forward Fearlessly and Realizing the Dream of Postgraduate Recommendation
Being recommended for postgraduate study is by no means easy, and sufficient preparations are needed. In the preliminary preparations, Li Yiran reviewed professional knowledge, contacted tutors, learned about the professional direction she applied for, and registered for summer camps and pre-recommendation interviews. Every link cannot be ignored. She participated in more than 10 interviews, experiencing challenges both big and small. The interview at Tsinghua University was undoubtedly the most difficult one. It included a 5-minute personal English self-introduction and 15 minutes of expert questions, covering professional knowledge, ideological and political quality, and innovative literacy. Li Yiran made every effort to prepare adequately and finally passed the pre-recommendation interview, fulfilling her dream of entering Tsinghua University.
