On July 1, the School of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Energy Power Engineering organized a special meeting on the management of horizontal projects and the promotion of risk prevention and control awareness. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Zunhua, Vice Dean of the School. Attendees included Wang Qifeng, Secretary of the School Party Committee, Hu Huanan, Vice Dean of the School, as well as directors and Party branch secretaries of various departments and centers within the School.

Vice Dean Zhang first conveyed the spirit of the university’s special meeting on the management of horizontal projects and risk prevention and control. He emphasized the importance of standardizing project management procedures and urged all research teams to strictly implement institutional requirements to ensure compliant project execution. Vice Dean Hu, speaking from the discipline inspection perspective, put forward specific requirements regarding strengthened oversight of project fund usage and the prevention of integrity risks. He highlighted the need to eliminate academic misconduct and prevent benefits transfer, announcing that regular special inspections will be carried out. Secretary Wang, drawing on practical examples, emphasized three key aspects: advancing “full and rigorous discipline within the Party”, “upholding the bottom line of the law”, and “strengthening professional ethics and conduct”. He called for leveraging Party building to guide responsibility allocation, ensuring clean and efficient project implementation; complying strictly with legal regulations to prevent contract disputes and intellectual property risks; and enhancing ethics awareness by encouraging faculty to lead by example and uphold academic integrity.

The meeting clarified the standard requirements for the management of horizontal projects and reinforced awareness of risk prevention, thereby providing safeguards for the healthy development of the School’s scientific research endeavors. Attendees expressed their commitment to communicating and implementing the meeting’s guidelines to ensure the standardized execution of research projects.
