School Overview

The college is anchored by its national key first-level discipline in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, offering four undergraduate programs: Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, Marine Engineering, Energy and Power Engineering, and Port, Waterway and Coastal Engineering. Among these, Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering and Marine Engineering are recognized as national distinctive specialties, with the college’s teaching team being designated as a national-level teaching team. The institution maintains comprehensive graduate education infrastructure, including 5 academic doctoral programs, 2 professional doctoral degree programs, 6 academic master’s programs, 3 professional master’s programs, and 3 postdoctoral research stations. Its organizational structure comprises seven academic departments—Naval Engineering, Power Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Port Waterway & Structural Engineering, Marine Engineering, and Thermal Energy Engineering—along with specialized research centers for System Simulation & Control and Experimental Instruction. With 224 faculty members, including 166 full-time academic staff, the college boasts 51 professors, 69 associate professors, 5 recipients of the State Council Special Allowance, and nearly 30 national or provincial-level distinguished scholars. Focusing on global academic frontiers and national strategic needs, the college conducts pioneering research and core technology development, supported by over 10 national and provincial-level platforms such as the National Engineering Research Center for Water Transport Safety, the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center for Ship Transportation, the "Key Technologies for High-Performance Vessels" 111 Plan Innovation Base, and the MOE Key Laboratory of High-Performance Ship Technology, fostering cutting-edge research and industry-aligned training initiatives.
